Medical and Health Recruitment Board, Assam invites online application in the websitehttps://nhm. assam.gov.in from the intending candidates having Indian Citizenship as defined
in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and having requisite qualification as per norms of
Central Council of Indian Medicine from recognized institutions in respective subjects for
recruitment for filling up 479 (Four Hundred and Seventy-Nine) posts of Medical & Health
Officer-I (M&HO-I) or its equivalent ranks under Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt.
of Assam, as detailed below in the scale of pay and carrying usual allowances as admissible
under the Rules of Govt. of Assam. The number of posts including reservation is likely to vary
as per requirement in due course of time.

Name of post: Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I)
No of posts: 479
Category wise posts: [UR-244, OBC/MOBC-129, SC-34, STP-48, STH-24, PWD-19]
Scale of pay: Rs. 30,000/- - 1,10,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 12,700/- plus other allowances
as admissible under the Rules.
Age: A candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as
on 01.01.2023 as per Govt. Notification AAP.115/72/Pt.I/194 dated 10.03.2008. The upper
age limit is relaxable for the candidates of reserved categories as per existing provision.
Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification is MBBS Degree from any
recognized University under MCI (Medical Council of India) and candidate must be
registered under Assam Medical Council.
Condition of service: Govt. servant joining the service of the State Govt. on or after
1stFebruary, 2005 shall not be Governed by the Assam Service (Pension) Rules 1969
and orders issued there under from time to time. So far as their pension and other
retirement benefits are concerned they will be governed by a new set of pension Rules,
which are already formulated with the New Pension Scheme 2005.
N.B.:
A. The number of vacancies is likely to increase in due course of time which will be intimated
before the date of interview.
B. Candidates who are in Govt. service (both State & Central) or in Govt. owned undertaking
or other similar organizations etc. shall have to apply through proper channel.
Process of Recruitment: The selection procedure will be notified later on by issuing
addendum. The Board will decide the procedure for selection in respect of the posts on
the basis of the number of applications received.
Application fees: Application must be accompanied with required application fee of Rs.
250/- (rupees two hundred fifty) only for General category candidates and Rs. 150/-
(rupees one hundred fifty) only for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST (P)/ST (H) candidate. No application
fee is required for candidates having BPL certificate and PWD certificate. Application fee
may be deposited, through Treasury Challan in the Head of Account “0210-Medical and
Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”.

Fees can be deposited online using Government Receipt Accounting System-GRAS
(Website: https://assamegras.gov.in). Candidates may pay the requisites fees (as
admissible for the category mentioned above). Printed copy of Treasury Challan generated
through GRAS should be submitted at the time of interview. In Remarks column, candidate
may write the post applied for.
The fees are not refundable and no other mode of deposit of fee shall be accepted.

How to Apply Medical & Health Recruitment Board Assam 2023 for 479 Posts ??
a) To apply online visit https://nhm.assam.gov.in -> Recruitment -> Medical and Health
Recruitment Board, Assam.
b) Candidates must use their mobile number and password to login.
c) After that, candidates can fill up the form for that given post.
d) Once you have submitted the form, no further changes will be applicable.
Terms and Conditions:
i. Candidates need not submit any testimonials/certificate at the time of submission of
online application. However, candidates have to produce their original testimonials regarding
educational qualification, date of birth, caste, PWD, Treasury challan, working experience
etc. along with the application form, at the time of interview. Self-attested copies of all
testimonials/certificates will have to be submitted to the Board at the time of interview.
ii. Application form, which is incomplete in any respect, such as, without photograph and
signature, is liable to be rejected summarily.
iii. Only those candidates who fulfill all the terms and conditions of the advertisement in
respect of the post for which they are applicants shall be entertained. Others need not
apply.
iv. The Candidates who are already in Corporations/boards/ or in private employment, may
apply with intimation to present employer. They shall have to produce “No Objection
Certificate” from the present Employer at the time of document verification, before Viva Voce/Interview and they will have to submit release order at the time of joining.
v. The Board reserves the right to cancel, alter or modify the advertisement or other terms
and conditions of the advertisement without any prior notice.
vi. All other matters which are not specially provided in this advertisement shall be decided
by the Board.
